Co-Founder, Design and Production Head

Sumanth is a ceramic designer, engineer, and entrepreneur with over 10 years of rich global experience in product designing and manufacturing. He gained mastery over his craft by travelling the world, learning from different cultures and innovating sustainable & agile stoneware production techniques.

Having worked with indigenous potters on various projects, he realized that most craftsmen were leaving the craft due to a lack of consistent and competitive job opportunities.

Sumanth cofounded Nugu with a vision to create a global handmade brand that makes bespoke sustainable products for conscious consumers by training and employing indigenous people.

Sumanth believes in minimal living and often says that pottery can reignite our connection to our origin, i.e. Earth.
